Exceptional religious shrine of the martyrdom of Saint Erasmus of Formia.

The martyr bishop was subjected to atrocious martyrdom. His insides were extracted using a winch.

In this sculpture made of solid carved wood we can find San Erasmus deposed inside, with his belly open and still connected to him, the tool of torture made of forged iron. On the sides hanging from the aedicule we find his wooden miter and his pastoral staff also in forged iron. At the bottom there are informative descriptions relating to the saint.

A unique object, with an incredible patina and experience that can be hung on a wall.

Germany 16th-17th century.
